Growing up as a kid, all of us have to experience the incredible fun of playing Breakout on the Atari. The game is a massive influence on several gamers around the world. No matter where you go, Breakout was the game of its time when it came out. For players looking to gain some of that nostalgia and those experiences from their childhood back, Atari Breakout is perfect. You get the same gameplay and those levels of difficulty that you’d expect.

The game is essentially the simplest block breaker you’ll ever experience. You have a paddle and a set of obstacles you must break through to finish a round. There are ten rounds that gamers can blitz to end the game. However, each level that players experience gets progressively harder. Some of the higher levels in the game will be a test of your reflexes. You’d catch the hang of the game very quickly if you were a fan of Breakout in the past.

As you break through the blocks, gamers will get several different power-ups. Each diverse power-up will give your paddle new abilities. One power-up helps increase the length of the boards while others may give you a laser. There’s a lot of different options that you can use to experiment. However, it would help if you were careful sometimes. If you end up using too many power-ups, everything could get very confusing.

The only time you lose a life in the game is when the ball misses the paddle. Once you’ve done that, you’ll lose one life. You can see the number of breaths you have on the bottom left side of the screen. Plus, if you keep playing well, there’s every chance that you’ll get more lives to help you get to round 10!

How to play Atari Breakout?

The game is incredibly essential, and if you have only a mouse, that is all you need to play. However, if you don’t particularly enjoy moving the paddle with the mouse, you can use the arrow keys. Both movement techniques are incredibly accurate. You won’t feel out of place using either.

Strategies to use

  • Keep your eye on the ball. No matter what you do, you can’t lose sight of the ball. The ball is the most crucial thing in the game. You lose the ball, and you lose a life. Each session starts with only two lives, so you have to be careful.
  • Use power-ups. The power-ups in the game are incredibly helpful. They help you finish any high level in a matter of minutes.

Be careful of the multiball. Sometimes you may feel like having multiple balls in the game is a good thing. However, it’s not; the balls are very easily lost if you don’t pay attention.
